FAQs about online psychotherapy

Q: How long does therapy usually take?

A: The length of therapy depends on your goals and concerns. Some people find relief after a few months, while others benefit from ongoing support. We’ll discuss what feels right for you during our first session.

Q: Do you offer in-person therapy appointments?

A: No. I provide secure, HIPPA compliant, online sessions for clients throughout Florida and Minnesota. Virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions, offering flexibility and comfort from your own private space.

Q: What issues do you specialize in?

A: I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, personal and professional development and LGBTQ issues. My approach blends evidence-based methods like EMDR, Somatic Therapy and Mindfulness with a warm, relational style focused on healing and growth.

Q: What is EMDR therapy and can you do EMDR online?

A: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a well researched, structured therapy that encourages the client to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. It is shown to be effective as an online modality. Click here for more information about EMDR.

Q: Do I have to do EMDR?

A: No. We can discuss various treatment options that might work best and that you’re comfortable wth.

Q: How do I pay for online therapy?

A: I use a secure, HIPPA compliant platform to receive credit card payments at each session.

Q: How do I get started?

A: You can schedule a free 15-minute consultation through my contact form. We’ll talk about your goals and see if working together feels like a good fit.
